Two Veterinarians.

Josh and Sherri Kinder met in veterinary school at WSU; she was finishing her final year when he was starting his first. They spent the next several years practicing separately, in different states, before building Clifton Hollow together in Poulsbo.

What they built reflects what they'd both seen: good diagnosis takes context. Context takes conversation. Conversation takes time.

Clifton Hollow Animal Hospital is independently owned, intentionally small, and built around the idea that a veterinary practice can either know its patients or process them. We chose the first one.

Clifton Hollow is one of the few independently and family-owned veterinary practices remaining in Poulsbo. Veterinarians Josh and Sherri Kinder built it around a simple premise: keep the patient volume low enough that every appointment can be thorough. Independent ownership means we make every decision about how our practice runs: scheduling, staffing, how much time each appointment gets. There's no corporate protocol dictating patient volume or visit length. That freedom is what makes our low-volume, high-attention model possible.

It's one of the most common things we hear from new clients. Every part of the visit (the pace, the handling, the environment) is designed to bring anxiety down, not add to it. We take our time with nervous animals before we do anything clinical. We can't promise every pet walks out calm, but the pattern our clients describe is that animals who struggle elsewhere tend to do better here.

Yes. Veterinarians Josh and Sherri Kinder provide full veterinary care for dogs and cats across all life stages, from puppy and kitten wellness through senior care and end-of-life support.

Yes. Before any procedure, diagnostic, or treatment, we provide a detailed estimate so you know what to expect. We walk through your options and the reasoning behind each one. If cost is a factor, we'll work through that with you; we present what we think is best first, and move forward from there together.

If something comes up and your pet needs to be seen same-day, call us. We do our best to accommodate urgent concerns during business hours. For after-hours emergencies, the Animal Emergency and Specialty Center in Poulsbo is available 24 hours at (360) 697-7771.
